Returns Policy

At the BabyDoc Shop, we want you to be happy with your purchase. This policy outlines your rights and our procedures for returns, cancellations and refunds.

This policy does not affect your statutory rights under Irish and EU consumer law.


1. Your Right to Cancel (Online Orders)

If you purchase online, you have the legal right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods, without giving a reason.

To exercise your right to cancel, you must notify us in writing (email is sufficient) within 14 days of delivery.

You then have a further 14 days to return the goods to us.

Refunds will be processed within 14 days of us receiving the returned goods or receiving proof of return.

Refunds will be issued using the original payment method.


2. 30-Day Returns Policy (Extended Returns)

In addition to your statutory 14-day cancellation right, we offer a 30-day return window for most items.

To be eligible for a return:

  • The item must be unused

  • In its original condition

  • With all original packaging, parts, manuals and tags

  • Accompanied by proof of purchase

Returns requested outside 30 days of delivery may not be accepted.


3. Condition of Returned Goods

Customers are entitled to inspect goods as they would in a physical retail store.

However, if goods are handled beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, we reserve the right to apply a deduction from any refund to reflect the diminished value of the item.

This may include (but is not limited to):

  • Items that have been fully assembled

  • Items returned without original packaging

  • Items that show signs of use, wear, marks or damage

  • Items not returned in a resaleable condition

All returned items are inspected upon arrival before refunds are approved.


4. Oversized & Pallet-Delivered Items

Certain products (including nursery furniture, glider chairs and pallet-delivered items) require specialist courier transport.

Unless an item is confirmed to be faulty or incorrect:

  • Customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping

  • Return transport for oversized items may require pallet collection

  • We can arrange collection on your behalf and deduct the cost from your refund

Returned oversized items must be securely packaged to prevent damage in transit.


5. Return Shipping Costs

Unless an item is confirmed to be faulty, damaged in transit, or incorrect:

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs

  • Original delivery charges are non-refundable

  • Any collection or courier costs arranged by us will be deducted from the refund

We recommend using a tracked and insured shipping service. We cannot accept responsibility for items lost in return transit.


6. Non-Returnable Items (Hygiene & Safety)

For hygiene and safety reasons, certain items cannot be returned once opened or unsealed, unless they are faulty.

These include (but are not limited to):

  • Car seats

  • Mattresses and mattress protectors

  • Breast pumps and feeding equipment

  • Baby bottles, teats and soothers

  • Sterilisers

  • Nursing pillows

  • Baby carriers (if worn)

  • Underwear or intimate maternity items

  • Any item sealed for hygiene reasons where the seal has been broken

This does not affect your statutory rights if a product is faulty.


7. Sale & Promotional Items

Items purchased at a discounted price or as part of a promotion may still be returned in line with your statutory rights.

Refunds will be issued for the amount paid at the time of purchase.

Final clearance items marked as “non-returnable” may not be eligible for return unless faulty.


8. Faulty or Damaged Items

If you believe your item is faulty, damaged or not as described, please contact us as soon as possible with:

  • Your order number

  • A description of the issue

  • Photos or video evidence where possible

We may request further information to assess the issue.

Where an item is confirmed to be faulty, we will offer a repair, replacement, or refund in accordance with consumer legislation. Return shipping costs for confirmed faulty items will be covered by BabyDoc Shop Ireland.


9. How to Start a Return

Please include your order number and reason for return.

Returns sent without prior approval may not be accepted.


10. Refund Processing

Once your return is received and inspected:

  • We will notify you of approval or rejection

  • Approved refunds are processed within 14 days

  • Refunds are issued to your original payment method
