Although it looks massive in photos, with it’s side-by-side seating the Mountain Buggy Duet v3 is surprisingly compact at 63cm – pretty much the same width as a lot of single buggies. The magic lies in the snug and compact toddler seats, both of which can support up to 18kg (roughly 3 to 4 years).
The off-road buggy...
Most double buggies you see in Ireland sit in-line (with the exception of the popular Bugaboo Donkey) but for those looking for an alternative, this off-road side-by-side pushchair is well worth considering, especially for those parents who see themselves venturing off-road in the countryside or brisk-walking throughparks. A handlebar bicycle-esque brake is an unusual but welcome addition and will help you keep control of the buggy downhill or at speed.
In our Mummysaver section below we’ve shared our full review of the good, the great and the less-good, but a quick summary of what you need to know:
Width – the WOW factor, it’s the same as most single buggies believe it or not!
Practicality at its core - The seats are padded and durable, this is a very functional buggy.
Extra shopping basket - When used in single mode, you can attach an extra shopping basket (Joey Basket sold separately RRP €69).
Side by side driving - it really comes into its own when you x2 children strapped in on a sloppy wet day trekking across a football pitch – that’s the Mountain Buggy’s time to shine.
As with every item featured on the BabyDoc Shop, we stock this product because we really like it but we feel it's also important we also give you the "watch-out" points too (that may not matter to most)...
Main thing to be aware of is the fold size - apartment dwellers and those with limited storage space may find this annoying. The seat sizes are on the lower end of the weight allowance (18kg), reducing the lifespan of the buggy and it's also important to flag the main seats can only be placed in world-facing mode.
This buggy is low on frills but it's big on action and definitely suited to active-lifestyle parents!
